Irving ISD Track Stars Race to Regionals

Irving, Texas. April 25, 2022 –

Irving ISD student-athletes earned one relay and 11 individual qualifications for the regional track meet, after a strong showing at the area meet, held Wednesday at Dallas Jesuit’s Postell Stadium. 

The Irving ISD regional qualifiers, including their event and results at the area meet, are as follows:

Girls

Irving

• Khya Walton – 300-meter hurdles (4th) and shot put (4th)

MacArthur

• Mikayla Douglas – 300-meter hurdles (1st) and 100-meter hurdles (4th) 
• Kayla Webster – high jump (1st)
• Laura Marquez – 3200-meter run (4th) 

Boys

Irving

• Alfonso Samaniego – 1600-meter run (2nd)
• Austin Williams – shot put (4th)

MacArthur

• Dea’john Evans – 400-meter dash (1st)
• Nolwen Ella-Menye – 400-meter dash (2nd)
• Scott Davis – 3200-meter run (4th)
• Kymere Harris, Dea’John Evans, Omolade Uhunoma, Nolwen Ella-Menye – 4×400 relay (4th)

These student-athletes will compete at the regional meet on April 29 and 30, at Maverick Stadium in Arlington.
