Traffic Stop in Plano Leads to Arrest of Fugitive Convicted in Death of 1-Year-Old Boy

Keisha Renee Green

A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a fugitive convicted in the 2020 death of a 1-year-old boy after she failed to report for a 25-year prison sentence.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on February 8, 2025, Officer A. Rust initiated a traffic stop in the area of 1800 Central Expressway Northbound after observing a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The officer made contact with the male driver and female passenger to verify their identities.

When the female passenger’s identification could not be confirmed, Officer Rust requested backup. Officer M. Diamondson arrived to assist, and after the passenger provided multiple aliases, he was able to properly identify her as 34-year-old Keisha Renee Green. Further investigation revealed Green was a wanted fugitive out of Alexandria, Louisiana, for a murder conviction.

Green had pleaded guilty in December 2024 to a reduced felony charge of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in the 2020 death of 1-year-old Khalid Boyd. She was sentenced to 25 years in prison and was ordered to report to the 9th Judicial District Court on January 27, 2025, before being transferred to the Louisiana Department of Corrections. When she failed to appear, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office had issued a public alert on February 2, asking the public to be on the lookout for Green.

Upon her arrest, Green was charged with Failure to Identify – Fugitive in addition to the outstanding murder warrant. Officers also determined the male driver had outstanding warrants from the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office, Garland Police Department, and Dallas Police Department.

The Alexandria Police Department was contacted regarding Green’s arrest. The Plano Police Department credited the proactive work of Officer Rust and the investigative efforts of Officer Diamondson for apprehending both suspects.
