A 61-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck Saturday evening at the intersection of Country Club Drive and San Miguel Drive, according to the Plano Police Department.
At approximately 7:00 p.m. on March 1, 2025, Plano Patrol Officers and Plano Fire-Rescue personnel responded to a serious injury crash involving a pedestrian. Investigators determined that a pickup truck traveling southbound on Country Club Drive struck a pedestrian who was walking westbound on San Miguel Drive attempting to cross Country Club Drive.
The pedestrian, identified as Mesfin Woldetadik, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Authorities stated that neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
The Plano Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
