Irving MacArthur Boys Playoff Game to be Broadcasted;

TexPreps Basketball's ongoing coverage of Texas high school hoops will showcase the Irving MacArthur Cardinals in their bi-district playoff clash with the state's third-ranked South Grand Prairie Warriors. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Turner Gym on the campus of Grand Prairie High.

District 5-5A champ South Grand Prairie enters the contest with a 31-2 record after having gone 14-0 in district play. Irving MacArthur finished tied for third in District 6-5A with an overall record of 15-15 and a 9-7 district mark.

TexPreps Basketball has also committed to broadcasting South Grand Prairie's second-round "area" game should the Warriors avoid being upset by MacArthur. That game would be played on either Friday or Saturday of next week.

Complete coverage of all TexPreps Basketball games -- including pre- and post-game interviews -- can be heard by clicking on the cybercast link at www.texprepsbasketball.com. Pre-game of Tuesday's bi-district game will begin at 7:15 p.m.

The game will be archived at the TexPreps Basketball website, which is home to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' official magazine -- a publication that hits newsstands each year in October.

South Grand Prairie and Irving MacArthur met earlier this season in the first round of the Fort Worth ISD Thanksgiving Shootout. South Grand Prairie won easily, 66-44.

But neither team is expecting a similar dominance this time around.

"We have added a few players since then and are a completely different team," says Irving MacArthur coach Mario Martin. "We are looking to pull the upset and definitely feel like we can."
