Two juvenile pedestrians were struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the 300 block of West Plano Parkway, sustaining serious injuries. Plano Police Officers and Plano Fire-Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:15 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling westbound on West Plano Parkway ran a red light at the intersection of West Plano Parkway and Accent Drive, striking the two juveniles as they attempted to cross the roadway.
Plano Fire-Rescue provided immediate medical assistance and transported both juveniles to an area hospital for treatment. They are currently reported to be in stable condition, though the full extent of their injuries is unknown.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the incident. Authorities state there are no indications that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. The Plano Police Department’s Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
