GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas - An investigation led by DPS Texas Rangers has resulted in the arrest of an Irving firefighter and two other volunteer firefighters on multiple charges related to the sexual assault and indecency with children. The arrests follow a probe into allegations within the Howe Volunteer Fire Department in Grayson County.
33-year-old David Yosimar Perez-Glass was taken into custody by State Troopers on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at his residence in the 1100 block of Reed Circle in Howe. Perez-Glass, who has been an Irving firefighter since August 2023, is charged with three counts of Sexual Assault of a Child. Perez-Glass is also an EMT with the department. He is currently held at the Grayson County Detention Center on a $750,000 bond.
Co-Defendants and Charges
In addition to Perez-Glass, two other members of the Howe Volunteer Fire Department were arrested in connection with the investigation:

Dalton Joe McCaslin: Charged with three counts of Sexual Assault of a Child.

Joshua Todd Ryals: Charged with two counts of Indecency with a Child (Sexual Contact).
The charge of Sexual Assault of a Child (Texas Penal Code § 22.011) is a second-degree felony. If convicted, defendants face 2 to 20 years in prison, fines up to $10,000, and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.
Official Statements from Howe and Irving
Howe Director of Public Safety Jake Sullivan stated that the city and local police requested the Texas Rangers' assistance early to ensure an independent and highly skilled review. Sullivan emphasized that no city employees were involved and that the allegations did not involve patients.
"The actions of the City of Howe and the Howe Police Department were intended to stop any improper action, preserve the integrity of the investigation, and to respect the privacy of those coming forward," Sullivan said.
The Irving Fire Department, where Perez-Glass has worked for less than three years, confirmed that he has been placed on administrative leave. In a statement to Irving Weekly, the department noted:
"The Irving Fire Department acknowledges the recent arrest of one of our employees. In respect for the legal process and the privacy of those involved, we will not disclose any details regarding the situation. The firefighter has been placed on administrative leave. This is an active investigation being handled by an outside agency. The City of Irving is not involved in the investigation."
