Dallas Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Indecent Exposure Conviction

Elrick Wade

DALLAS, Texas — A Dallas County jury convicted a 62-year-old man of indecent exposure after determining he intentionally exposed himself to a woman and her infant at a self-service car wash, prosecutors announced.

Elrick Wade was found guilty on May 14, 2026, of Indecent Exposure with Two or More Previous Convictions and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

According to prosecutors, the incident occurred at a self-service car wash where a young woman was present with a baby when Wade exposed himself.

During the trial, Wade claimed he was merely urinating. However, jurors rejected that explanation and returned a guilty verdict.

The case was prosecuted by lead attorney Sarah Hayes and second-chair prosecutor Shanna Gosey. Appellate support was provided by Jessie Allen. District Attorney Investigator Aleciah Taylor and paralegal Mildred Gibbs also assisted with the case.

The Dallas Police Department conducted the investigation.

Following the conviction, Wade was sentenced to 12 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
