A native of Irving, Texas, and an international basketball superstar, MarQuez Haynes is reaching back and giving to his community by providing a FREE back to school event on Saturday, August 14th at Macarthur Highschool, 3700 North Macarthur Blvd, Irving, Texas, 75062.
The event begins at 12:00 pm CT to 6 pm CT with a back to school backpack give away for all school aged children in the Dallas Fort Worth Area. The backpacks will be filled with school supplies.
There will also be a live DJ, raffles, food trucks, prizes, bounce house, and face paint.
To further help prepare students for the upcoming school year some of the city's most talented barbers and hairstylists will be onsite providing FREE services.
Following the backpack give away there will be an alumni basketball game starting at 6 pm CT. The northside will face the southside for an action packed rivalry game for city bragging rights. The game will feature the signature “Elam Ending” which is sure to add an electric finish to an already intense atmosphere. Half time entertainment will feature four of the worlds greatest Youtube Dunking Sensations, Isaiah Rivera, Connor Barth, Jonathan Clark, and Dan Gross.
About the Living Legends Foundation
The Living Legends Foundation is a non-profit organization in Irving, Texas. Their mission is to create opportunities and improve the quality of life for African American/Latinx youths within socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. This is the fourth year MarQuez and the Living Legends Foundation has hosted this event. The goal is to bring the community out and to provide a fun and entertaining experience for the kids.
