Ballet 5:8 Presents Bold New Ballet On Human Trafficking At Irving Arts Center

Ballet 5:8 presents Reckless, a bold new ballet at Irving Arts Center on Sunday, October 24 at 3 p.m. as a part of its tenth anniversary season. Artistic Director Julianna Rubio Slager shines light on a dark subject, presenting the narrative of a trafficked woman, in this ground-breaking new ballet.

Cliché stereotypes fall apart when we look at someone’s life through their own eyes. The stories of those in the sex trade are broken, painful, and often misunderstood. Reckless explores the story of Gomer, the wife of the prophet Hosea. The story of Gomer has been retold in countless lives, frequently ending in tragedy and sorrow. In this story, we see the reckless, beautiful love of God pursue to the darkest street corner to redeem the one He loves.
