The district hosted its annual spelling bee last month, naming three champions who will advance and represent the district at the county bee. This year’s winner and alternate from each cluster are:
Irving Cluster
- Winner: Jazmine Saravia, Austin Middle School
- Alternate: Hannah Perez, de Zavala Middle School
MacArthur Cluster
- Winner: Sanai Rhymes, Houston Middle School
- Alternate: Caiden Shondell Hennings, Houston Middle School
Nimitz Cluster
- Winner: Graham Binu, Lamar Middle School
- Alternate: Lissy Romero, Bowie Middle School
These Irving winners will be competing in the Dallas County Spelling Bee to be held virtually February 17-19. The winner from each cluster will compete, and the alternate will step in if the winner is unable to participate.
