The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight (Sept 24) in the 3000 block of Fort Worth Avenue near Westmoreland Road.
At 1:39 am, Dallas Police and Fire Rescue responded to the given location for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Authorities say a vehicle was traveling westbound on Fort Worth Avenue when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid.
As witnesses were attempting to render aid, a second vehicle hit the pedestrian and also fled the scene. This vehicle has been identified as a red Chevy Cruz.
Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
