Recently, the Mayor and City Council appointed nine residents to the Charter Review Committee with the task to review the charter and discuss possible amendments to the Irving City Charter.
The City Charter is a document that defines the organization, powers, functions and procedures of the city government; essentially, it is the City Constitution. Adopted Oct. 25, 1952, the city has amended this document 10 times in the past.
The Charter Review Committee would like input from the public. Submit comments on the City Charter online.
Comments and changes will be accepted through Nov. 30.
