Argument at Fort Worth Boarding House Leads to Shooting

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, at about 3:41am, South Division officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of Winn Street, a private residence that is a boarding house, in reference to a shooting.  Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar personnel also responded.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, who stated that he had been inside the residence in his private living quarters with the witness, an adult female acquaintance.  The victim stated that the suspect, an adult male, is also an acquaintance of the witness.  The victim stated that the suspect came into the victim’s quarters and a verbal confrontation ensued.  The confrontation escalated to physical violence with the suspect producing a firearm and discharging it, striking the victim once in the abdomen.  The suspect and witness then fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

The victim was transported to a hospital in stable condition to obtain medical treatment.  There are no suspects in custody and the Gun Violence Unit has been requested to assist in investigating this incident.  

In other news, a worker was killed when a crane collapsed in Celina, Texas.
