The initial investigation determined that the driver of the Audi SUV was traveling south in the HOV lane of S. Central Expwy. and the tractor-trailer truck was traveling north on S. Central Expwy. Two tires from the truck tractor’s trailer came off and one tire went over the concrete center divider, striking the front of the SUV. The second tire was found in a nearby parking lot with no other damage being reported.

The driver of the SUV, 39-year-old Micole Cromer from Dallas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her 6-month-old child, secured in a child-safety seat in the SUV, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
