The 21-year-old talent is set to join the ranks of la Albiceleste under the guidance of Head Coach Lionel Scaloni.

Velasco's call-up marks an unprecedented moment in FC Dallas history, as he becomes the first player from the club to be summoned to a reigning World Cup-winning national team. The young midfielder's dedication and skills have earned him a deserving spot among some of the world's top football talents.

Argentina's campaign in the CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches will see Velasco contributing his abilities to the team's efforts. The matches are scheduled against Ecuador on September 7 in Buenos Aires and a challenging encounter against Bolivia on September 12 at La Paz, known for its demanding altitude.

Having previously represented Argentina's youth national teams, including the U-15 and U-17 squads, Velasco's journey to this point has been marked by success. His participation in the U-17 team's victory in the South American U-17 Championship in 2019 and subsequent appearance in the U-17 FIFA Men's World Cup highlights his promising potential.

In the current season, Velasco has showcased his talent in twenty MLS regular season matches and demonstrated his prowess during Leagues Cup play. Notably, he found the net against Liga MX side Mazatlán F.C. and Inter Miami CF, underlining his ability to make impactful contributions.

Being called up to represent Argentina isn't just a source of pride for Velasco; it presents a golden opportunity to share the pitch with revered football icons such as Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez, and Angel Di Maria. This experience, even if he doesn't play in the matches, offers immense value as Velasco trains alongside world champions, gleaning valuable insights and strategic knowledge from top-tier players.

Argentina's Head Coach Lionel Scaloni's call-ups include other promising talents such as Lucas Beltran and Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, and Lucas Esquivel from Atletico Paranaense. Additionally, Thiago Almada of Atlanta United, representing the MLS, has also been selected, demonstrating the league's growing influence on the international stage.
