Transfer Bombshell: Manchester City eyeing the best Midfielder in the world in the next transfer window

There are rumors that Manchester City may be back in the market again for a big catch. The latest European soccer news reveals that the 2022/23 premier league winners may be planning to drop a huge budget on another midfielder.

The player who has been mentioned in various quarters is the Bayern Munich lethal midfielder, Joshua Kimmich. Reports indicate that Man City is ready to take him if he is available in 2024. Kimmich is currently under a contract with Bayern Munich but they are ready to sell him if the deal is not renewed. The Premier League’s champion is waiting and any time soon they will snap up the Germany international.

Who is Joshua Kimmich?

  • Currently one of the most sought-after midfielder, Joshua Kimmich was born 28 years ago.

  • He currently plays as a right-back or defensive midfielder at Bayern Munich as well as in the German national team.

  • He is one of the best midfielders in the world, often compared with the former Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm, a man who carved his name in the football arena.

  • Many consider Kimmich a possible successor of Philipp Lahm.

Performance

Kimmich has made 241 appearances for his side Bayern and more than 80 for the national side. One of his best performances was on 24 January 2023 when he scored a goal from a distance of twenty-five meters. This was not only an outstanding performance for a midfielder but also led his team to earn a draw in a match in which they had been overwhelmed by their opponent, FC Koln. At his age, analysts consider Kimmich a hot cake.

No wonder, Manchester City has come calling. They are hoping that he would bring plenty of experience if the midfielder is to join them. He has won a Bundesliga in all the seasons that he has been with the club, so by joining the top UK Premier League side, this trend may continue. Kimmich was also being eyed by Arsenal and Barcelona but Bayern Munich was not ready to release him early. It seems that now they are ready and it is just a matter of time before Manchester City takes him home.

A worthy player

Manchester City regards the player as one of the best midfielders and having him on their side is a big win. They see him as the perfect candidate to join the likes of Kovacic and Nunes, players who arrived from Chelsea and Wolves this summer. Football commentators argue that Manchester City may have been impressed by Kimmich's performance during the Champions League, especially during the game that they played against Bayern.

In that match, Kimmich saved the day by scoring from the penalty spot. This match is considered by analysts to be one of the best of the season. Few could have predicted such a turn of events. The odds of a Bayern victory or even a draw were minimal, but Kimmich turned the tide with a penalty kick. Even bettors with the best sports betting football in Europe by MightyTips could not predict such an outcome with 100% probability. The penalty had been awarded against Manuel Akanji. Although Kimmich scored against Manchester City, the scouts may have liked his moves and that is why they have come calling.

The news of this transfer may spell doom for Kalvin Philips; it is rumored that the player may be allowed to leave if the offer succeeds. Philips who also plays in the same department with Kimmich has not managed to put a run for games since he joined from Leeds.

There are claims that Man City has already invited offers although they have to wait until the Kimmich deal goes through. Some analysts have linked Philips with Bayern although the Bundesliga side is eyeing Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.

The successful signing of Kimmich by Manchester City may see some changes that will excite the football scene, especially in the second half of the European clubs league. At Manchester City, he will bring the much-needed impetus which may see the team winning the title back to back. With Bayern selling the midfielder, they will now have the money to sign a big deal, a player who will turn the tables in the club, securing them another Bundesliga title. For now, it is a wait-and-see moment.
