Former Arlington Renegades quarterback Drew Plitt, 25, has officially joined the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad. Plitt signed with the NFL team on Monday, following his stint with the Renegades in the 2023 XFL season.
During his time with the Renegades, Plitt played in four games, completing 63 of 99 pass attempts with a 63.6 percent completion rate. He accumulated 668 yards, throwing 3 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Plitt faced a setback on April 3, 2023, when the Renegades placed him on the reserve list due to a knee injury. However, he returned to action after being activated off the reserve list on May 16, 2023.
A native of Ohio, Plitt played college football at Ball State, earning Second Team All-MAC honors in 2020. He joined the Bengals as an undrafted free agent before the 2022 season.
This signing comes in the wake of starting quarterback Joe Burrow's season-ending wrist injury, which left the Bengals with only two quarterbacks on their roster. Plitt's addition to the practice squad provides the team with depth and options in the quarterback position.
