On July 27, 2024, Dallas police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Laureland Road (Wolf Creek area) at approximately 4:30 am. Upon arrival, officers discovered five individuals had been shot outside a business in the area. The victims were immediately transported to a local hospital. One of the individuals was in critical condition.
During the response to the shooting, a Dallas police officer sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released.
Update: On August 5, 2024, Dallas Police Homicide was informed that Devon Lewis, 28, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Remaining Victims:
- Female, 35
- Male, 21
Both individuals are still hospitalized.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects are three adult black males, and the shooting appears to have been targeted. No further suspect information is available at this time, and no arrests have been made.
