Significant progress has been made in the investigation of the murder of 21-year-old Rogelio Castro-Gomez, as the Dallas Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects. Castro-Gomez was tragically shot while sitting in his vehicle in the 9300 block of East R. L. Thornton on the evening of April 16, 2023. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on June 13, 2023, prompting intensified efforts to bring his perpetrators to justice.
After conducting a thorough investigation, law enforcement officials have identified Jose Sandoval Johnson, 23, as the primary suspect responsible for shooting Castro-Gomez. Additionally, Valeria Garcia, also 23, has been implicated as an accomplice in the crime. Both suspects have since been charged with Murder in connection with the incident.
Police have not provided specific details regarding the motive and events leading up to the shooting.
