Hurst Man Arrested After Stabbing Wife, Surrenders Following SWAT Standoff

A man was taken into custody Friday afternoon, March 28th, following a stabbing and SWAT standoff at a home in the mobile home park located at the 700 block of Castle Drive near W. Pipeline Road.

Hurst Police responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 10:37 a.m. and found a woman suffering from a laceration to her abdomen. The victim’s husband, identified as Steven Hannah, remained inside the home and refused to exit.

The Hurst Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

After Hannah refused to surrender, the North East Tarrant County Area SWAT Team (NETCAST) was called to assist. At 1:15 p.m., officers deployed gas into the residence, prompting Hannah to surrender immediately.

Hannah was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence. The investigation remains ongoing, but police confirmed there is no further threat to the public.
