Grand Prairie Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Workplace Stabbing

William Cassels

A Tarrant County jury has sentenced 38-year-old William Benjamin Cassels to 30 years in prison after finding him guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The charges stem from a June 22, 2023, incident at a machine and laser company in Grand Prairie, where Cassels randomly stabbed a co-worker multiple times in the neck. The attack was captured on the company’s security cameras. A colleague who witnessed the stabbing testified that he feared Cassels would stab him as well.

The Grand Prairie Police Department conducted the investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Alec Trono and Emily Nicklas.
