Dallas Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the 4800 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street in South Dallas.
Officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 7:25 p.m. at that location. The preliminary investigation revealed that 22-year-old Yantese Chappell had been shot. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Chappell deceased.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and is documented under case number 054010-2025.
