The Arlington Police Department is investigating a late-night shooting that left two young men dead and a third injured at a QuikTrip gas station on South Cooper Street.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 10:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of S. Cooper Street following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man unresponsive in the parking lot, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to area hospitals where they were later pronounced deceased.

A third victim, a 19-year-old man, was located with a gunshot wound to the foot. He was transported to a hospital, treated, and released.

Several individuals involved in the incident, including the suspected shooter, remained on scene and were detained by officers.

After interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence, detectives determined that two groups became involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot. During the fight, 17-year-old Saman Islam allegedly retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and opened fire, striking the three victims. The cause of the altercation remains under investigation.

Islam was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on charges of Capital Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing.
