A Tarrant County jury on May 8th, 2025, found 37-year-old Jared Lee Newman guilty of the continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and sentenced him to 45 years in prison.
The conviction stemmed from a report made in 2020 by a young female family member who stated that Newman had repeatedly sexually assaulted her, beginning when she was just 8 years old.
Authorities acknowledged the Fort Worth Police Department for their work in investigating the case and their ongoing efforts to ensure community safety. Special recognition was also given to Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A) for their support of the victim and her family throughout the trial process.
The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office was represented by prosecutors Matt Rivers and Ross Von De Kop, with investigative support from DA Investigator Darren Gabbert and victim coordination by Elizabeth Garcia.
