FORT WORTH, TX – The Fort Worth Police Department has arrested Ismael Avelar, 21, in connection with a shooting on Sunday, July 20, 2025, that left 19-year-old Isaac Albert Ramirez dead. Avelar is charged with manslaughter, and his bond has been set at $200,000.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, South Division officers responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of Gordon Avenue in the Seminary Hill area. Upon arrival, they found Ramirez inside a residence with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body. Medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
According to homicide detectives, Avelar and the victim were at the residence when the shooting occurred. After interviewing witnesses and the suspect, detectives determined the death was a homicide with a gunshot wound to the back and that the killing was reckless.
Avelar was taken into custody on July 22 and charged with Manslaughter. His bond has been set at $200,000. The investigation is ongoing.
