Suspect Arrested After Woman Found Shot to Death in Fort Worth Home

FORT WORTH, TX – The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Central Meadowbrook neighborhood after a woman was found dead from a gunshot wound.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, at around 7:30 a.m., East Division officers responded to the 2600 block of Yeager Street on a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, officers instead found a woman deceased in a bed with an apparent gunshot wound to her upper body/head. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Detectives determined that the victim and suspect had been staying at the location temporarily, but were not permanent residents. Investigators believe the suspect, later identified as Josue Bayardo Rodas, left the scene in a vehicle several hours before the victim’s body was discovered.

Rodas was later located in west central Texas and transported to the Tarrant County Jail on September 2. He has been charged with Murder and is currently being held without bond.

Fort Worth homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the case.
