On Thursday, September 4, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., DeSoto Police responded to reports of a shooting outside a sports bar located at 900 W. Belt Line Road.
According to initial witness accounts, security officers had escorted a male subject out of the establishment to a waiting vehicle. At that time, a second individual inside the vehicle produced a firearm. Both suspects are believed to have fired shots at the security officers, prompting one of the officers to return fire, striking both men.
Officers arrived within minutes, provided medical aid, and secured the scene. Both suspects were transported to a local hospital, where one remains in critical condition. No security personnel or civilians were injured.
The DeSoto Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is actively investigating. Both suspects have been identified and are facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, a second-degree felony.
