The Denton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver who fled the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian early Monday morning.
At 12:38 a.m. on September 22, officers responded to the 1900 block of W. University Drive, east of Ector Street, and found an unconscious man in the roadway. Investigators determined he had been hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin are notified.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a gray, four-door sedan with possible front-end damage. They reported that the male driver initially stopped but left after being told he had struck a pedestrian.
