Arlington Repo Man Shot During Confrontation Over Repossessed Vehicle

ARLINGTON, TX — Arlington police responded to a shooting Tuesday evening, October 7, around 9:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the 2100 block of S. Collins Street.

Officers found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim, a repossession agent, told police he had just repossessed an SUV and had pulled into the parking lot to file his report when the vehicle’s owner arrived in another car and confronted him.

During the confrontation, the owner of the SUV fired at the repo man. The shooter told officers he believed the victim had stolen his vehicle and claimed he saw the repossession agent reaching for something in his waistband.

Police recovered firearms from both the SUV owner and the repo man. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
