Fort Worth, Texas - A man was fatally shot early Friday morning, December 12, 2025, during an apparent attempt to enter his vehicle at an apartment complex in West Fort Worth.
At approximately 4:40 a.m., officers from the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) were called to the 6400 block of Wildwood Circle in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers learned that an adult male driver and an adult female passenger had driven a female acquaintance to the apartment complex. After the acquaintance exited the vehicle, the male driver was preparing to leave when he was approached by two unidentified suspects who attempted to enter his vehicle.
One of the suspects produced a gun and fired, striking the driver. The suspects then fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment but later died from his injuries.
FWPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene and are actively investigating the incident. At this time, evidence suggests this was an isolated incident, and authorities stated there is no known threat to the community.
