Killeen Police Arrest Teen on Murder Charge for November Fatal Shooting

Arrested: Jada Raquelle Levy

Killeen police have identified and arrested a suspect in the November shooting death of 26-year-old Tai’Lynn Akaya Wright.

Detectives with the Killeen Police Department Robbery-Homicide Unit announced that Jada Raquelle Levy, 18, has been charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with Wright’s death. Following a review of the case by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, criminal complaints were issued, and Bell County Associate District Judge Susan Criss signed an arrest warrant.

Levy was located and arrested by Killeen police on December 31, 2025. She was arraigned the same day and received a combined bond of $300,000. She remains in custody at the Bell County Jail.

The shooting occurred on November 26, 2025, at approximately 2:02 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Monte Carlo Lane in Killeen, TX, after reports of two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious female and a conscious male inside the residence.

Killeen Fire EMS provided life-saving measures at the scene. The male victim, also 26 years old, was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:47 a.m. Justice of the Peace Nicola James ordered an autopsy to be conducted by the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victims were inside their home when someone outside the residence fired a weapon into the house. Detectives continued to work the case in the weeks following the shooting, ultimately identifying Levy as the suspect.
