IRVING, Texas - A 33-year-old man has died following a road-rage shooting Wednesday evening at a busy Irving intersection, and a 62-year-old Irving resident has been arrested and charged with murder, police said.
According to the Irving Police Department, officers responded at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, to a reported shooting at the intersection of N. Belt Line Road and Finley Road. When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Yoduardy Sanchez-Naranjo inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures, and Sanchez-Naranjo was transported to Parkland Hospital. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office said he succumbed to his injuries about four hours later.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect vehicle and a suspect, identified as 62-year-old Kenneth Nixon of Irving. Nixon was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of murder.
Police said the investigation determined the shooting stemmed from a road-rage incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Sanchez-Naranjo was originally from Cuba. Online records show that he has resided in Dallas and Las Vegas.
