North Richland Hills Man Indicted for Alleged Threats Against President and ICE Agents
DALLAS — A North Texas man has been indicted on federal charges after authorities say he posted repeated online threats to assault and kill the President of the United States and unnamed Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
A federal grand jury in the Northern District of Texas returned an indictment February 3, 2026, charging Francisco Jesus Mena, 36, of North Richland Hills, with 10 counts of threatening a federal official, according to U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould.
Mena was previously arrested on a federal complaint and made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Harold R. Ray Jr. on January 7, 2026. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment February 11, 2026. If convicted, he faces up to 96 years in federal prison.
According to the indictment, Mena allegedly posted multiple threats on a social media platform in May 2025, including writing “KILL TRUMP” 25 times and stating, “ICE COMES TO MY HOUSE, I WILL RESPOND WITH A GUNFIGHT!” The indictment outlines additional instances of alleged violent rhetoric.
The case was investigated by the FBI Dallas Field Office’s Fort Worth Resident Agency and the U.S. Secret Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Weybrecht is prosecuting the case.
