Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck on Highway 360 in Arlington

Arlington, TX — Arlington police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred early Saturday morning along Highway 360.

Officers responded around 5:09 a.m. on March 7 to the northbound lanes of Highway 360 near East Avenue J after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found a male pedestrian trapped underneath a small truck.

Preliminary investigators say the man had been traveling northbound on Highway 360 in a Dodge Durango with a female passenger before stopping along the highway.

Police said the man exited the vehicle and began walking with the passenger in the lane of travel near the Highway 360 entrance ramp.

During that time, the man was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on the frontage road and entering the on-ramp.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said the driver is not facing any criminal charges at this time.

The female passenger who had been walking with the victim was not injured.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Danny Carlos Testerman.

Arlington police are reminding the public that walking along highways can be extremely dangerous due to high vehicle speeds and limited stopping distances.

Officials advise drivers who must stop along highways to exit the roadway if possible and remain inside their vehicles when it is safe to do so.
