GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Grand Prairie police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Thursday morning.
On March 19, 2026, around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of South Belt Line Road after receiving reports of a serious collision.
According to investigators, a Toyota passenger car traveling southbound failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree.
Witnesses told police the vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grand Prairie Fire Department medics.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver. Officials say the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will release that information once next of kin have been notified.
The crash remains under investigation.
