ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman earlier this month.
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 8:36 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Bush Drive near Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive after reports of a person struck by a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found a woman trapped underneath a vehicle.
Investigators determined that Victoria Johanna Curtis was riding a 2026 Yamaha Vino moped northbound on Carter Drive when a 2014 Nissan Sentra attempted to turn from an alleyway onto the roadway and pulled out in front of her.
Authorities said Curtis tried to avoid the collision by laying the moped down, but she fell and was run over by the vehicle.
She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
At this time, no criminal charges have been filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
Curtis was a 2020 graduate of Juan Seguin High School in Arlington.
