FRISCO, Texas — Frisco police have arrested a Waxahachie woman in connection with a 24-year-old homicide case involving the death of a Plano man whose body was found near Lake Lewisville.
Lisa Honrud, 55, was arrested April 20, 2026, by Frisco police working with the Waxahachie Police Department, according to authorities.
Police said Honrud was taken into custody on a murder warrant tied to the 2002 killing of Frank Weiss.
Weiss, a Plano resident, was found dead near Lake Lewisville within Frisco city limits. Authorities said Honrud was married to Weiss at the time of his death.
Investigators said recent advances in investigative techniques, modern technology and new information from a key witness helped detectives make significant progress in the case and obtain the arrest warrant.
“We are thankful for our investigators who have put countless hours into this case, as well as the Waxahachie Police Department for their assistance with this arrest,” Frisco Police Chief David Shilson said.
“For 24 years, the Weiss family has waited for answers. Today’s arrest is an important step toward justice, and we will continue working until everyone involved is held accountable,” Shilson said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
