PARKER COUNTY, Texas — A Parker County man has been charged with murder after investigators say he fatally shot his adult daughter during a domestic disturbance at a residence in Azle, TX.
According to the Parker County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after receiving a 911 call reporting a gunshot victim at a private residence in northeast Parker County.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately began lifesaving efforts.
Fire Rescue personnel and Medic 71 arrived shortly afterward and continued CPR and other emergency medical measures. Despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said Brooks admitted to retrieving a handgun, loading the weapon, and chambering a round before attempting to intervene in the dispute.
Brooks told investigators that while he was attempting to separate the two women, the firearm discharged and struck his daughter in the chest.
Following the investigation, Brooks was arrested and charged with Murder, a first-degree felony.
He was transported to the Parker County Jail, where Justice of the Peace Kelvin Miles set his bond at $2 million.
