RICHARDSON, Texas — The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian Saturday morning.
Officers responded at approximately 11:05 a.m. on June 20, 2026, to the 1400 block of West Spring Valley Road following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a pickup truck.
When officers arrived, they found an adult woman who had been struck by the vehicle.
Paramedics with the Richardson Fire Department transported the woman to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Elvira Peralta Hernandez.
The Richardson Police Department's Special Crash Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
According to preliminary findings, Hernandez was attempting to cross West Spring Valley Road at a location other than a designated crosswalk when she was struck by a westbound pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the collision and remained at the scene following the crash.
Authorities have not announced any charges, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
