ARLINGTON, Texas — Firefighters quickly contained a commercial fire Sunday that heavily damaged a vehicle inspection center and prevented the flames from spreading to neighboring businesses.
According to the Arlington Fire Department, crews responded to the 2200 block of South Fielder Road near West Arkansas Lane after receiving multiple reports of a business on fire.
The first arriving fire crews encountered heavy flames coming from a commercial strip center and requested a second alarm.
Firefighters launched an aggressive attack on the blaze and were able to bring it under control before it spread further through the shopping center.
The fire originated inside a vehicle inspection center located within the strip center.
One civilian was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation and was later released. No firefighters were injured.
Crews remained on scene conducting extensive overhaul operations to extinguish hidden hot spots.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Arlington Fire Marshal's Office.
The Arlington Fire Department also thanked the Pantego Fire Department for assisting with the incident.
