GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a woman Sunday morning.
According to police, the crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 5 in the 900 block of South Belt Line Road, just south of Interstate 30.
Investigators said a Maserati traveling northbound on Belt Line Road failed to negotiate a curve and struck an adult female pedestrian.
Grand Prairie Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The driver of the Maserati was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.
Police said impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the crash. However, investigators have not ruled out distracted driving as a possible contributing factor.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office after next of kin have been notified.
