FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead late Tuesday night in the city's Eastside neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 11:41 p.m. on July 14th to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of Carol Oaks Lane.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male lying in a parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Fort Worth police officers and Fort Worth Fire Department personnel immediately began providing lifesaving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will identify him after next of kin have been notified.
Police said several people at the scene have been detained as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Fort Worth Police Department homicide detectives responded to the scene and are leading the investigation.
