DALLAS, Texas - Dallas Police are investigating after a person was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds inside an apartment near Bachman Lake in Northwest Dallas.
Officers responded to a call for service at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, in the 2500 block of Webb Chapel Extension.
When officers entered the apartment, they found a person who appeared to have been dead for some time before police arrived, according to the preliminary investigation.
Police said the victim had apparent gunshot wounds.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office will assist investigators in determining the victim's identity, exact cause of death and approximately when the death occurred.
Police have not released any information about a possible suspect or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The death remains under investigation and is documented under case number 124474-2026.
