DALLAS, Texas - Dallas Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man who was found with a gunshot wound to the face early Thursday in Oak Cliff.
Officers responded at approximately 1:28 a.m. on August 27, 2026, to the 3600 block of South Polk Street near Highway 67 after Dallas Fire-Rescue requested police assistance. Upon arrival, they found the young man shot outside.
The preliminary investigation determined that 24-year-old Gabriel Hurtado-Gutierrez had been shot in the face by an unknown suspect, according to Dallas Police.
Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Hurtado-Gutierrez dead.
Police have not released information about what may have led to the shooting or provided a description of the suspect. No arrests have been announced.
The homicide is being investigated under Dallas Police case number 125864-2026.
