Kennedale Man Charged With Murder in Fatal Stabbing of His 65-Year-Old Brother

KENNEDALE, Texas - A 62-year-old Kennedale man has been charged with murder after police say his older brother was fatally stabbed at a home Friday evening.

Michael Russell King, 62, was taken into custody in connection with the death of his brother, 65-year-old Gayle Dean King.

Kennedale police responded around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 to a home in the 100 block of Arthur Drive following a report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived and found Gayle King suffering from apparent stab wounds.

He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, where he died about an hour later.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office identified King and determined that he died from a stab wound to the torso. His death was ruled a homicide.

Police identified Michael King as the suspect at the scene and took him into custody.

Michael King was subsequently charged with murder and remains in the Tarrant County Jail. His bond has been set at $750,000.

Authorities have not disclosed what led to the stabbing or provided additional details about the circumstances surrounding the confrontation between the brothers.

Property records show the Arthur Drive home has longstanding ties to the King family. The brothers' parents purchased the home in 1986, shortly after it was built. Records indicate their father died in July 2021.

Kennedale police said the homicide remains under investigation and that additional information is being withheld to protect the integrity of the case.
