Missing Person Found Dead in Lewisville Lake After Multi-Agency Search
LFD Boat Ops

LEWISVILLE, Texas - A search for a missing person near Lake Park ended Sunday morning when Lewisville Fire Department rescue teams located and recovered an individual from the water.

The search began Saturday, Sept. 12, after the Lewisville Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a missing person.

Firefighters were joined by the Lewisville Police Department, Texas Game Wardens and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as crews searched the water, shoreline and surrounding areas near Lake Park.

Multiple fire department rescue boats equipped with sonar conducted grid searches across the water. Crews also deployed water drones along the shoreline and shallow areas, while aerial drones searched from above.

During the operation, the fire department asked the public to stay away from Lake Park so roads, boat ramps and other access points would remain clear for emergency crews and dive teams.

The search continued into Sunday morning.

On Sept. 13, Lewisville Fire Department rescue teams located and recovered an individual from the lake.

Authorities have not released the person's identity pending formal notification of family and review by the medical examiner.

Because the person was found dead in the lake, Texas Game Wardens have taken over as the lead agency investigating the death.
