Garland Man Accused of Firing Gun at Driver During Duncanville Road-Rage Incident

DUNCANVILLE, Texas - A Garland man has been arrested nearly a month after police say he fired a handgun at another driver during a road-rage confrontation at a Duncanville intersection.

Kevin Gray, 42, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the Aug. 11 shooting.

Duncanville police responded to the area of South Cockrell Hill Road and East Highway 67 after receiving a report of shots fired during a road-rage incident.

The victim told police that a man driving a Tesla fired a handgun at him while the vehicles were stopped at an intersection. No one was struck by the gunfire, and police reported no injuries.

Detectives began working to identify the Tesla driver using witness statements and other investigative leads. Police said automated license plate readers, commonly known as ALPRs, also helped investigators identify Gray as the suspected driver and shooter.

On Sept. 3, Duncanville patrol officers and detectives again used ALPR technology to locate Gray, according to police.

Officers found him in Dallas and took him into custody without incident.

Gray was subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
