Dallas Man Sentenced to 42 Years for Stalking Woman for Six Years, Making More Than 1,000 Calls in One Month
Harmon Manuel

DALLAS, Texas — A 43-year-old man who began stalking a woman just one day after being released on parole for two previous stalking convictions has been sentenced to 42 years in prison following a Dallas County jury trial.

Harmon Lee Manuel II, 43, was found guilty of stalking with a previous conviction on September 24, 2026, after prosecutors presented evidence of six years of persistent harassment involving phone calls, text messages, emails and unwanted appearances at the victim's work events.

According to the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, Manuel began stalking the woman in September 2019, one day after being paroled for two earlier stalking convictions.

The woman did not know Manuel when the harassment began. She later learned from him that she had served him a drink once while working as a waitress in 2007.

More Than 1,000 Calls in a Single Month

Over the next six years, Manuel repeatedly contacted the woman through daily phone calls, voicemails, text messages and emails.

At one point, he made more than 1,000 calls in a single month.

The harassment extended beyond phone and electronic communications.

Manuel also appeared at the woman's work events, purchased airline tickets and made dinner reservations using her name.

Despite the woman's repeated attempts to seek help, the unwanted contact continued.

Prosecutors presented the pattern of harassment to jurors during a trial that included two days of testimony.

Although Manuel never explicitly threatened the woman with physical harm or violence, the jury returned a guilty verdict after deliberating for less than 10 minutes.

Stalking Continued Even While Defendant Was in Jail

During the punishment phase, prosecutors presented additional evidence concerning Manuel's conduct while on parole and in custody.

Jurors learned that Manuel committed the stalking offense while on parole, despite restrictions prohibiting him from using a computer or accessing the internet.

The jury also heard that Manuel continued contacting the victim from the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in Dallas.

That contact included the night after the woman completed her direct testimony during his trial.

Jury Hands Down 42-Year Prison Sentence

On September 24, 2026, the jury found Manuel guilty of stalking with a previous conviction.

Jurors also found the enhancement paragraph true and sentenced him to 42 years in prison.

The Dallas Police Department investigated the case.

The Dallas County District Attorney's Office prosecution team included Elizabeth Pryor, lead prosecutor; Renson Abraham, second-chair prosecutor; Jeremy Sheppard, district attorney investigator; and Shannon Vanloggerenberg, district attorney paralegal.
