Irving Police Hunting for Capital Murder Suspect

On Monday, April 27, 2015 at approximately 10:30 p.m. the Irving Police Department responded to a shooting call that occurred in the 2800 block of Cheyenne Street. Officers learned that Darrin McMorris, 19 years old, and Mayte Rangel, 18 years old, were shot during an attempted robbery. McMorris was transported to Baylor Hospital in Dallas but died from a single gunshot to the head. Rangel sustained a single gunshot wound to the hand.

Investigators have identified Rashad Cox, 20 years old, Nylon Hart, 19 years old and Brandon Taylor aka: Brandon Thomas, 19 years old as the three suspects responsible for the attempted robbery and murder of Darrin McMorris. Cox and Hart are currently in custody at the Dallas County Jail on a charge of Capital Murder.

The Irving Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Brandon Taylor after he failed to turn himself in for arrest. He had previously cooperated with detectives but is now considered at large. A warrant of arrest has been issued for Brandon Taylor on a charge of Capital Murder. He is 5’ 10” tall and 150lbs with black hair and brown eyes. His photo is attached.
