Squirrel Knocks Off Power in South Irving

I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.  If you live in South Irving, specifically south of Grauwyler, then you were most likely affected by the loss of power.
 
Oncor workman where at the scene working on restoring power.  They expect to be fully up by 9 p.m. if everything goes right.  The official word is that a squirrel climbed into a power substation causing the electrical shortage.
 
Drivers were being careful when crossing intersections where the signals were off.  Most used logic and treated the lack of signal as a stop sign.  Driving on O'connor going north from Irving Boulevard towards 183, I did notice some impatient drivers honking on those that were not sure what to make of the lifeless signals.
 
City officials were forced to move their city council meeting to work session chambers where they had some power that allowed them to continue with city business.
